Wiganers head to the polls in local and mayoral elections

A seat in each of the area’s 25 wards is up for grabs and people will also be voting today (May 2) on who becomes the next Mayor of Greater Manchester.

The polls close at 10pm with counts in Wigan and Leigh taking place immediately afterwards. Results are expected to be announced in the small hours of tomorrow morning.
